A Time and a Place
Inside HOKA Northern Arizona Elite’s build-up to the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials
A film by Rabbitwolf Creative
Back in 2019 and 2020, the boys of Rabbitwolf- director’s Ryan Sterner and Stephen Kersh embedded themselves with HOKA’s elite marathoning group as they prepared for the 2020 Olympic Trials. High up at 7,000 ft amongst the Ponderosa Pines in Flagstaff, Arizona, Coach Ben Rosario put the team through grueling workouts to prepare them for what would be a notoriously hilly race course in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ryan and Stephen were there for every break and turn, from goal setting to the after party. During this glorious 59 minute feature, you’ll be right there too.
The team’s training block primed the NAZ Elite athletes for a hallmark finish, putting three women in the top 10 with Aliphine Tuliamuk capturing the gold, Steph Bruce placing 6th and Kellyn Taylor coming in 8th. Scott Fauble led the men with a 12th place finish, followed by Scott Smith in 19th.

Some familiar faces will be on the line again in Atlanta. Tuliamuk, Bruce and Taylor will be once again represent the NAZ Elite, and the salty dog, Old Faubs will be gunning for spot on the podium in his Nike kit.
Relive the magic and get fired up for another championship showdown in the American south.
